On Sunday, July 25th, the run commenced and ended in front of the Patchogue Firehouse on Jennings Ave. Members of the Patchogue Kiwanis and the Patchogue Medford Key Club monitored the USATF certified 5K route and provided water to the runners. Patchogue Kiwanis Race Chairman, Nick Harding awarded prizes to Audra Zakar (left) of Miller Place who won the women’s competition and Eric Haun (right) of Bayport who won the men’s competition. Over 115 runners participated in this run at thirteen age levels with proceeds going to Child Service Projects sponsored by the Patchogue Kiwanis Club. Patchogue EMS volunteers stood by for contingent emergencies. Also noteworthy is the fact that Chairman Harding recently participated in the Empire State Olympic Games where he placed 4th in the RaceWalking competition
